Redevelopment and Modernization of a Full Service Car Wash

IAG worked with the client to acquire an old full service car wash and develop a modern Flex Service model operation. The work was extensive and included remodeling and modernizing a 50 year old facility to include a new boutique and comfortable waiting area for customers.

IAG chose Belanger Equipment Company to provide the new equipment package. The car wash tunnel was redone with concrete work necessary to support a new conveyor system and state-of-the-art all cloth equipment including on-line tire dressing. The conveyor and tunnel are approximately 160 feet long, so IAG incorporated an online express wax process that is called California Speed Wax™.

IAG also worked with VacuTech Technologies Corporation to incorporate a specialized central vacuum system for the Express Detail Area for the customer Self Service Vehicle Enhance Center. The car wash is designed to incorporate automated pay stations and gates, which will be incorporated in Phase II of the modernization plan over the next 12-18 months, with a new POS system. WashLink Systems provided the car wash with a new Motor Control Center and Variable Frequency Drives for power conservation.

Acquisition of a Chain of Washes and Quick Lube Business

  IAG recently supported the acquisition of a medium chain of full service carwash and lube properties. The transaction was done very privately as both parties preferred that the information remain confidential. IAG was responsible for sourcing the acquisition, negotiating a final purchase price and performing pre-acquisition due diligence ultimately following the transaction to completion. The transaction involved both fee and leased property adding to its complexity. IAG has preformed many similar types of  transactions in the past 20 years.

Consolidate Through Mergers and Acquisitions with Public Exit Plan

   IAG is involved in the strategic growth plans of a client that is diversifying their existing business portfolio by acquiring and operating Full Service and Express Exterior car wash businesses. The clients’ business plan is to acquire multiple sites in their metropolitan trade area and ultimately seek an exit strategy in the public or private equity markets. IAG has acquired several washes for the client and identified other M&A candidates. IAG has also provided consulting services related to marketing, management oversight, sales training and operational policies and procedures.

Conversion of a Full Service CW to an Express Exterior Car Wash

IAG represents a client who recently acquired an old full service carwash which had been neglected for the past 10 years. The strategy was to acquire the location, secure permits to remodel and equip then re-introduce the business as a state of the art Express Exterior Car Wash. A great deal of research was done to insure that the new model would find favor and success within the community. IAG also helped the client research and secure significant community redevelopment funds and tax benefits through the state, local utilities and others.

Working with a Public Company to Introduce a New Carwash Franchise

  IAG was chosen and exclusively hired by a large publicly held company to support its entry into the carwash industry. IAG was involved in predevelopment site location, site layout, equipment selection, menu and pricing matrix, on site training of site managers, training the trainer, and selection of the final wash model. Mr. Clean Performance Car Wash is now a National Franchise in the Car Wash Industry.

Exterior Carwash Development

  IAG spent two years researching the exterior industry, meeting with some of the largest family owned operations, reviewing sites and operating businesses across the United States. IAG now brings this experience to the Western States, especially California. Paul Dadgar was involved in the planning, development, construction and operations of his own Express Exterior Carwash model. IAG is in the pre-development stages of a chain of Exterior Carwashes throughout the state of California.
